Buenos Aires, Argentina & The Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau Hotel

The location and reasons to visit:

Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina. A fascinating place to visit for a few days. Most of the interesting areas can be reached on foot, if a centrally located hotel is used. The mix of old and new buildings has been tastefully achieved. However, look out for groups of children who pick pockets or snatch bags. They look around surreptitiously, choosing their next victim, or pretend to look in shop windows while glancing around. Once you are aware of them, they are easy to spot. If people approach you and want to talk, it’s because they want to sell you something. Sit for any length of time in a park and someone will approach and ask you the time. Then the selling begins. I told them to go away and they did, so it’s not more of an issue than in most cities in the world.

Review of the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau:

A really excellent hotel. The standard of English spoken was really high. The standards of food and service were really excellent. The hotel is ideally located in a very safe area and is within walking distance of all the attractions of Buenos Aires, including all the places pictures below.

I was there on Mothers’s Day celebration and all the tables in the restaurants had been booked well in advance, but the hotel management still managed to find me a table where I could have a quick lunch. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Buenos Aires.
