Bloomfield Lodge, Queensland, Australia

The location and reasons to visit:

Bloomfield Lodge, Queensland, Australia. Bloomfield is located at Weary Bay, at the edge of the Daintree Rainforest. A fantastic place to visit for forest walks, river cruises to see wildlife including crocodiles and visits to waterfalls, Cooktown, and many other activities.

Review of Bloomfield Lodge: PLEASE NOTE: Bloomfield Lodge is for sale as at the time of this update (April 2018)

It has to be one of the best places on this planet to visit. The lodge can have a maximum of 35 guests at any one time. The food is absolutely fantastic and the service is extremely efficient from the expert and friendly people who work there.

Transfers to Bloomfield are from Cairns local airport, where a private plane takes guests north for a 30 minute flight to Bloomfield airport. Then there’s a short transfer in a vehicle to a jetty, where a private boat transfers guests down the Bloomfield River and across Weary Bay to land at the Bloomfield Lodge jetty.

One there, the peace is only broken by the call of birds and the occasional frog. The room price includes all food, alcoholic drinks being available on an honour bar system.

A guided rainforest walk and a boat trip down the Bloomfield River to look for crocodiles are included in the price, and many other optional trips are readily available. Bloomfield Lodge is a truly wonderful place to visit.
