Vienna, Austria & The Grand Hotel
The location and reasons to visit:
Vienna, Austria. Beautiful building, carefully maintained - certainly. Art, museums,
including the Sigmund Freud (born Sigismund Schlomo Freud, 6 May 1856 - 23 September
1939) museum, plus culture - yes certainly. But if anyone is hoping for quiet squares
with coffee shops, where the impressive buildings can be admired, well, I didn’t
find any. The cafes are there, but they are alongside roads busy with traffic.
Review of the Grand Hotel,Vienna, Austria:
The hotel is well located for exploring Vienna. It’s nice, fairly efficient, but
the rooms are really dark - dark from the wall coverings and low levels of lighting.
The breakfast buffet was really good, but poached eggs ordered from the kitchen were
grossly undercooked. The highlight was Le Ciel restaurant, on the top floor, which
was impressively good. I requested a hotel car from the Concierge for a particular
time for my departure. On checking on the morning of leaving, it had been booked
for the wrong time and the cost had not been booked to my room, which had been requested.
My onward journey took me to Bratislava in Slovakia. The in-car navigation system
couldn’t locate the hotel or the address.
Very impressive architecture,
Impressively maintained building, everywhere.
